Here is how you make Carol's Chicken and rice casserole:

Mix together chicken broth, rice, chopped onion, chopped celery, meleted butter ( if you cook chicken with skin on , omit the butter). Add thyme and marjoram, and salt and pepper to taste. Spread in long pyrex flat cake dish. Put chicken pieces on top and sprinkle with herbs. Cover with foil or oven proof lid. Cook 1 hr at 375 degrees. Halfway through cooking, remove chicken pieces, stir rice and replace chicken. For browned pieces remove the foil for the last 10 minutes. (1 piece of chicken with 1/6 of the rice)
