1 cup finely diced onion
1 cup finely diced red bell pepper
salt to taste
1 large garlic clove minced (or 2 tsp refrigerated minced garlic)
2 large carrots, finely grated
2 lbs ground white turkey breast
2 TB ketchup
2 TB barbecue sauce
1 TB mustard
ground pepper to taste


How Do I Make Turkey and Vegetable Burgers?

Here is how you make Turkey and Vegetable Burgers:

1. Heat olive oil in medium skillet over medium heat and add onion. Cook, stirring, until it begins to soften, about 3 minutes. Add diced red pepper and a generous pinch of salt. Cook, stirring often, until the vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes. Stir in the garlic and grated carrot and cook, stirring for another minute or two, until the carrots have softened slightly. Remove from heat.2. In a large bowl, mash the ground turkey, mixing in 1/2 tsp salt if desired, plus barbecue sauce, ketchup, mustard and ground pepper to taste. Add the sauteed vegetables and mix together well. Shape into 12 patties (chill for 1 hour if possible to make handling easier).3.
