Here is how you make European Sausage and Cabbage:

Melt butter in large skillet. Cook shredded cabbage for about five minutes, or until soft. Add onion and garlic and poppyseeds and cook with lid on for a few minutes more, until onion is transluscent. Add cooked polish sausage, sauerkraut and applesauce.
