Here is how you make Apple and Parsnip Mash:

Cut the parsnips with skin on into roughly 2cm chunks, discarding the root ends. Cut the apple(s) with skin on into roughly 3cm pieces, discarding the core. Add both to a pot with a lid and cover with 7cm cold, salted water. Bring the pot to the boil on a high heat. Once boiling, remove the lid and boil the parsnips and apples for 7-10 min, or until you can pierce them easily with a fork. Once fork tender, drain the parsnips and apple. Return both to the cooking pot with 15g (30g) butter and a splash of milk.
