Saute onions and peppers in a large pot until tender. Add a bit of water if they stick. Add the other ingredients and simmer until flavors have combined, at least 20 minutes. If you like your beans thicker, cook longer. If you like them thinner, add a little water or apple juice (will change stats). Makes 12 good sized servings.To freeze, cool batch in refrigerator.
