Here is how you make Buttermilk Scones with Cranraisins:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.Combine dry ingredients in a medium-sized bowl. Add the butter and cut into the flour mixture with a pastry blender or two knives to make a coarse meal. Add cranraisins and stir with a spoon until all the piees of fruit are coated with flour.In a separate bowl mix the buttermilk and water together with a fork or whisk. Combine the dry and wet ingredients, and stir with a wooden spoon or spatula just until blended.Turn the dough out onto a floured surface, knead lightly and divide into two equal-sized balls. Pat each ball into a 6 1/2 inch circle, slightly mounded in shape. Cut each circle into 8 wedges and plane on an ungreased baking sheet, allowing space between eah wedge.Brush scones with the cream and sprinkle with granulated sugar.
