2 sleeves of Ritz Crackers (crushed into small pieces)

3 cans of canned asparagus (not the pre-cut kind, as some of these are tough)

1 package (12 slices) of cheddar cheese

1 can of cream of mushroom soup


How Do I Make Grandma's Asparagus Casserole?

Here is how you make Grandma's Asparagus Casserole:

Preheat oven to 350Crush two sleeves of Ritz crackers into small pieces and set aside. In a saucepan, heat the mushroom soup over medium heat until bubbling. Remove from heat and set aside. Remove packaging from all cheese slices and set aside. Drain all three cans of asparagus and cut into small pieces using all parts. Set aside. Layer the ingredients in a casserole dish using the following method: Cheese (3 slices for each layer halved to cover the dish); Soup (couple of spoons in center); asparagus to cover; and crumbs to cover. Repeat this method until all items have been used or the dish is full- approximately four layers. Place in pre-heated oven uncovered, and cook until the mixture is bubbly. Approximately 40-45 minutes or less depending on your oven. Remove from oven and serve. Makes approximately 10 servings if cut into squares.
