In small saucepan; heat oil over medium-low heat. Add onion, garlic and ginger root. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring until onion is softened. Stir in green onion, chili paste, soy sauce, coriander and cumin. Cook for another 2 minutes. Add peanut butter, stir until smooth. Stir in vegetable broth or buttermilk. Heat through.
