Dissolve yeast in warm water in a large mixing bowl. Warm the milk and melt the butter in it. Stir in the sugar and allow to cool to lukewarm. Add the milk mix to the mixing bowl along with 3 cups of flour. Beat until smooth. Add remaining flour and knead until smooth & elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl and allow it to rise. Punch down, shape into 2 loaves, and allow to rise a 2nd time. Bake at 400 F for about 30 mins.
